National Center for Transgender Equality

Established in 2003 by transgender activists, NCTE swiftly emerged as a pioneering force dedicated to driving policy transformations for transgender equality. Fueled by a dedicated board of directors, a lone volunteer, and contributed office space, the organization embarked on an unprecedented mission—to establish a formidable transgender advocacy stronghold in Washington, DC.

Presently, NCTE stands as a dynamic collective, featuring industrious staff members bolstered by a widespread network of transgender individuals, allies, and advocates. With a notable track record, the organization has consistently secured transformative changes that have proven to be life-saving for the transgender community.
